Every now and then Paul organizes a group of about 20 people to go play golf in the area. I joined this group last Thursday. We were playing in groups of 3-4 players at the Stow Acres Country Club. I joined Wendy and Linda in their group, using a set of clubs that Paul lent me. Gail was also supposed to join us, but had here computers crash and had to take care of them.
We played best of 4 (or should I say best of 3). Meaning that we all took a shot, and played the next ball from the best of the 3. After being a few hours at the driving range I was getting a little better, although it was clear that Wendy was the best player among us. I kept hitting my balls off to the right when driving. I think I did a half way decent job on the green and had a few that I am proud of using the pitching wedge just off of the green. As we went on Wendy gave me some tips that helped a bit.
Of the 9 holes planned, we played the first 8 and began to play the ninth. That last hole was a dog leg right, meaning that the fairway veers to the right. With the way my drives keep veering off to the right, I had a decent chance of having a good shot here. Choosing the 3 driver, I aimed straight got great height and distance and as expected the ball veered to the right. That was where we wanted it. Unfortunately, it was already after dusk and we could not find my ball.

No matter, I enjoyed it just the same. Just talking and getting the exercise without any phones or computers. While it was a little hard physically, it was relaxing mentally.
