Rained Out after Halloween

Fall is still here and I have the leaves in my yard to prove it. I started my Saturday thinking that I’d get some yard work done, and then maybe later on or Sunday get in some golf. I’ve been using the bag on my lawn mower to gather the leaves that have fallen so far. The problem is that after a day or two the yard looks like we didn’t collect any leaves at all.
I guess that can sometimes be a good thing as it helped the feel of Halloween, having the cob webs, pumpkins and read and yellow leaves in the yard. In the picture from left to right you have our friendly ghost that tried to sneak out of the picture, my wife Dvorit who is in her 9th month (you can just barley tell) and Melinda dressed up as a witch.
But that is nether here nor there. Back to this past Saturday, I wanted to start and collect the leaves. Unfortunately I did not have enough yard waste bags, so I went to Home Depot to get some more, got back home and began to work. I figured I’d start by clearing the leaves from the driveway and patio and then move on to the yard. Using the lawn mower I mulched and collected the leaves from the patio and driveway. By the time I finished them I had 2 bags full of chopped leaves, I was feeling tried so I figured I’d rest and do the yard on Sunday.
We had some wind on Saturday evening and you could see all the leaves falling almost like it was snowing. I woke up Sunday to find that patio and driveway covered with leaves, as if I did not clear them the day before.
The images here were taken Sunday so you can see the amount of work I have cut out for me. It started to rain and I didn’t really feel like dealing with soggy leaves, so we decided to leave them for next weekend.
In the end I did not gather the leaves and did not get in any golf this weekend. My consolation is that it looks like we will be going to the SeaView Marriott in mid December. We meaning from the office as we work with them. I do not know if it will work out to bring my wife, last time we were there in April it did work out. At the time I had not yet discovered the game of golf. With any luck the weather will allow me to play a bit there. They have 2 18 hole courses that are quite well known.
